The Arcadia Lake Trail Coalition has joined forces with the Edmond Land Conservancy (ELC), with the ELC being the primary fundraising entity for the trail project. The ELC is a 501 (c) (3) organization with several objectives, all dedicated to the creation, preservation and improvement of land. One such objective is enhancing outdoor recreation opportunities through assisting in trails, parks and municipal sports facilities projects.
FORWARD MOMENTUM IS BEING ACHIEVED
We’ve broken our fundraising efforts into 3 phases. Our phase 1 goal of $1,800,000 has already been reached which funds the construction of a trail that goes under the I-35 overpass and connects all the way out to Spring Creek Park at Lake Arcadia. Our phase 2 goal of $1 million will provide the necessary funding through the engineering, design and approval process for an 18-20 mile trail that goes all the way around the lake. Phase 3 fundraising will begin once final plans have been approved. In addition to several donations from private individuals and corporations so far, The Edmond City Council has recently approved $200,000 towards Phase 2 preliminary engineering and we need your help to continue this effort. Your tax deductible donation is a commitment to the people of the Oklahoma City metropolitan area.
Several corporate sponsorship opportunities exist including the naming rights to the wellness park and trail head located in the I-35 corridor.
